Carrying on where the CSS badge stops
With the free AI Image check&mark you label an image in one click: the badge sits on top via CSS, the machine-readable marker sits in the file. On your own website the label is visible. Only the visible badge stops at the edge of your website. If somebody downloads the image, shares it, embeds it elsewhere, or a platform builds its own preview — then nothing of the label can be seen. That is exactly the gap the Pro version closes: you write the badge into the image data itself. From then on it travels with the file. And it takes the manual work off your hands. Clicking through a media library of a thousand images one by one is not a job for a human being.
What you can do with it
Label many images at once. Bulk actions in the list view, two buttons in the grid view of the media library. Select, label, done.
Apply what the scan found. The free plugin reads your whole media library and shows you which files declare themselves as AI generated. One tick is enough and all of them are labelled — the same rule that already applies to new uploads, applied to everything you had before.
Burn the badge in permanently. One at a time from a link in the media list or a button in the labelling details, or in bulk across the whole library. The badge is written into every generated image size, scaled to fit each one, so that it does not become a slab on the thumbnail or a postage stamp on the full-size image.
A safety net. Before a file is touched it is copied into a backup folder that is protected from access. One click brings all originals back and clears the burned-in state. If you remove the label from an image, the originals are restored automatically. Updates and support for the whole term of your licence.
How the burn-in works
The badge is rendered with PHP-GD from your badge text — or from a transparent PNG you upload yourself — and then composited into the image file. Size, margin, position and JPEG quality are yours to set. Image sizes below your minimum width are skipped, because nobody can read a badge on a 150-pixel thumbnail anyway. JPEGs are recalculated once in the process, which costs a little quality — how much is up to you via the quality level. Because GD throws away all metadata when it re-encodes, the machine-readable marker is written again afterwards. Both layers are therefore preserved.
Your licence
An annual licence for one domain. Staging, development and local installations are detected and do not use up your activation. The key is entered once — that unlocks the burn-in and the bulk actions.

When the term ends, burn-in and the bulk actions pause until the licence is renewed. Images you have already burned stay exactly as they are, and restoring backed-up originals keeps working — in every state. Getting your own files back is not a paid feature. Both plugins are released under the GPL. Nothing is crippled artificially: what is in the free version stays there — without a limit and without being asked.

Before you buy
Make a backup of your uploads folder before you run across the whole media library for the first time. Restoring works, but it is no substitute for a backup. We accept no liability. This plugin is no substitute for checking your compliance with the EU AI Act. It carries out the technical labelling as far as your installation allows — and we cannot guarantee that either: if an image optimiser, a CDN or another plugin runs over the files after us, nothing of the marking survives. The legal assessment of your case remains yours.
Frequently asked questions
Can I undo the burn-in? Yes. Every file is backed up beforehand. “Restore originals” copies them back. Do not delete the backup folder while you might still need it.
What if I regenerate the thumbnails afterwards? WordPress generates the sizes from the main file — and that one already has the badge in it. The new thumbnails therefore contain a scaled-down badge. If you want it cleanly rendered per size again, restore the originals, regenerate the sizes and then burn in once more.
I have several websites. One licence per domain. Moving is included: on the old site choose “Release this domain”, then enter the key on the new one. That is what the second activation of the year is for.
What happens at the end of the year? The licence expires, it is not a subscription. To renew, buy again with the same email address — the renewal is 25 % cheaper.
Does this make me compliant with the EU AI Act? We cannot answer that for you, and we do not promise it either. The obligation is yours, not the plugin’s. What it delivers are two technical building blocks: a visible label and a machine-readable marker in the file. Whether your implementation satisfies the transparency obligations depends on your content, your role and your jurisdiction — this is not legal advice, and we accept no liability for it. When in doubt, have it checked by a lawyer.
What is the difference between Pro and the free version? Time, and how far the label reaches. Labelling, checking and setting the machine-readable marker are all possible with the free version, with no limit on quantity. Pro takes the manual work off your hands and makes the label visible outside your website too, by burning it in. That naturally only applies to images shared after the burn-in.
